What we collect, what we publish, and what we will delete on request.
When you file a report
We collect what you type into the form, and two things you do not:
- A hash of your IP address. Not the address itself — a one-way hash, used only to stop one person filing fifty reports in an hour. It cannot be turned back into an address.
- Your browser's user-agent string. Used for the same purpose.
What of that gets published
The display name you choose (or “Anonymous”), your city and state if you gave them, the rating, the headline, the account, the amount lost, the payment method and the incident date.
What is never published
Your email address, your phone number, your IP hash and your user-agent. Files you upload are private by default and are published only if a moderator marks a specific file public — which we do not do for anything showing account numbers or personal details.
When you just read the site
No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics scripts, and no cookies are set for visitors. The only cookie this site issues is the session cookie for staff signing into the admin panel.
Sharing across the network
Published reports appear on every site in our network, which is the point of filing one. The unpublished parts — your email address, your phone number — are not shared beyond the moderators.
Deleting your report
Email tips@usdealerblacklist.com from the address you filed with, or quote the reference we gave you. We will remove your report, or strip your identifying details from it and keep the account, whichever you prefer. We do this without asking why.
If your personal information appears in someone else's report, tell us and we remove it the same day, before we consider anything else about the listing. See the corrections policy.
How long we keep things
Published reports stay published — that is what makes the database useful over time. IP hashes and user-agent strings are kept for twelve months, then cleared. Contact details on rejected reports are deleted with the report.
